By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any other policies we may implement in connection with the services provided by Rate My Resume. If you do not agree to all the terms outlined here, you must immediately cease using the website and its services.
2. Services Offered
Rate My Resume offers the following services:
● Rate My Resume: An automated system that reviews, scores, and rates uploaded
resumes.
● Match My Resume: Matches resumes to specific job descriptions.
● Fix My Resume: Provides suggestions and allows users to make live changes to
resumes.
Our services are primarily intended for individuals in the US but may be accessible
internationally. We make no representations that our services are suitable or available
outside the US, and you are responsible for ensuring compliance with your local laws.
3. AI-Generated Suggestions
Our services may provide AI-generated suggestions for resume improvements. While we strive to provide accurate and helpful guidance, you acknowledge that such suggestions do not guarantee job interviews, job offers, or specific employment outcomes. You agree to use your discretion when applying any AI-generated recommendations, and we disclaim any liability for your reliance on such information.
4. Eligibility
By using our services, you represent that you are at least 18 years old or have reached the age of majority in your jurisdiction. If you are under the age of majority, you may only use our services with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.
5. Account Registration
To use certain features of Rate My Resume, you may be required to register for an account. By registering, you agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. We are not liable for any unauthorized access to your account resulting from your failure to safeguard your credentials.
6. Payment and Billing
Certain services on Rate My Resume are offered for a fee. By purchasing a service, you
agree to pay the fees associated with that service as indicated at the time of purchase.
All fees are listed in US dollars unless otherwise stated.
We use third-party payment processors to process payments securely. By making a
payment, you agree to the terms and conditions of the payment processor in addition to
these Terms. We reserve the right to change our fees at any time, and such changes will
apply to future purchases.
7. Subscription and Auto-Renewal
By purchasing a subscription, you agree that your subscription will automatically renew
at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel. You may cancel your subscription at
any time through your account settings. All cancellations will take effect at the end of
the current billing period, and no partial refunds will be provided. Please review your
account settings for renewal and billing dates.
Certain features are exclusively available to Premium members, also known as 'Rate My
Resume Pro' members. These can be purchased directly on our website or may be
provided through your organization (such as your employer or university) if they have
already been prepaid.
As a Rate My Resume Pro member, you agree to pay all applicable fees (including
taxes) and provide the necessary payment information to access Pro features. Any
failure to pay these fees may result in termination of your Pro service. Various payment
plans are available, including monthly, quarterly, and annual subscriptions. Members are
responsible for canceling or updating their subscriptions through their account portal.
8. Refund Policy
We want you to be satisfied with our services. However, all sales of services are final
and non-refundable except as required by law or as otherwise provided at our sole
discretion.
When you subscribe to any of our paid plans, you will be billed monthly from the
subscription date. Billing will continue according to the selected cycle until you cancel.
Rate My Resume is not responsible for ongoing subscriptions if a user forgets to cancel
their account; it is the customer's responsibility to confirm cancellation.
To prevent abuse (where users might fully utilize the product and then seek refunds), we
cannot offer refunds for new users. This policy is necessary because our AI technology
incurs significant costs to operate.
If you wish to apply for a refund, please do so via our support page. Our customer
support team will review your case and respond within 72 hours. We encourage you to
reach out before disputing with your credit card company, as that process can take
several months and complicate your refund.
For Existing Pro Members Who Forgot to Cancel:
If you are an existing Pro member and missed the cancellation deadline, please contact us within 3 days of your billing date. You can reach us via our support form or email at support@ratemyresume.com. If you haven't used the service since your billing date, we may be able to issue a refund depending on the circumstances. This refund is completely up to the discretion of the Rate My Resume team. Unfortunately, we cannot process refunds for requests made outside of the 3-day window.
9. User Conduct
By using our services, you agree not to:
● Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international laws and regulations.
● Upload, post, or otherwise transmit any content that infringes on the intellectual
property rights of others.
● Use our website for any unlawful purpose or for the promotion of illegal
activities.
● Disrupt or interfere with the security or proper functioning of the website or
services.
● Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the website, accounts, or
networks connected to the website.
● Use any automated systems (including robots, spiders, or scrapers) to access
our services.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
Our website may contain links to third-party websites, services, or content that are not owned or controlled by us. We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of such third-party resources and do not endorse or assume any responsibility for any content, products, or services offered by third parties. Use of such services is at your own risk.

BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR THE
SERVICE THAT GAVE RISE TO THE CLAIM.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account or access to our services at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to your violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to access and use our services will cease immediately.
19. Changes to Terms and Services
We may update or modify these Terms from time to time, and such changes will be
effective immediately upon posting on the website. It is your responsibility to review the
Terms regularly. Your continued use of the website and services following any changes
constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
We also reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the website or
services at any time without notice.
20. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Arlington, Virginia
21. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration
In the event of a dispute, you agree to first contact us at support@ratemyresume.com to resolve the issue informally. If we are unable to resolve the dispute, you and Rate My Resume agree to resolve any claim or controversy arising out of these Terms through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
